The Islanders have climbed to the number-two spot on the points table following their second consecutive win in the National League on Sunday.

They bagged a 3-1 victory over One Love at the AO Shirley Recreation Grounds in Road Town.

Incidentally, things did not start well for the Islanders, having scored an own-goal in the first half of the match. However, Julian Davidson turned things around for the Islanders by scoring a goal within the first minute in the second half.

Davidson then netted another goal in the 61st minute to give the Islanders a 2-1 lead. Jamal Sergeant widened that lead by scoring the final goal of the match in the 66th minute.

The Islanders might have defeated One Love during Sunday’s match but both teams still share second place on the points table behind the Sugar Boys.

The Sugar Boys hold a gaping six-point lead over the two teams currently resting in second place.

Sugar Boys 4-2 victory

During their latest match, the Sugar Boys maintained their flawless season with a 4-2 victory over VG United.

Michael Castello opened the scoring for the Sugar Boys in the 19th minute, but Marknique Williams of VG United quickly responded with a return goal in the 23rd.

Delano Barbour then gave VG United a 2-1 lead just before the half-time whistle.

But, that lead was short-lived as Romaine Codner of the Sugar Boys returned with the equalizer in the 53rd minute. His teammate, Andres Bailey, then put the Sugar Boys in front by scoring in the 60th minute.

Codner concretised the table-toppers’ lead with another goal during the extra-time segment of the match.
