Nearly 500 ferry tickets found –Speedy’s targeted

Vigilant law enforcers at the Terrence B Lettsome International Airport have foiled what appears to be a ferry ticket racket intended to hit Virgin Gorda Transport, which operates as Speedy’s.

Nearly 500 tickets with the company’s name have been seized.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has taken two persons into custody in relation to the find, but only one has been charged.

Yudelka Matos of the Dominican Republic has been arrested and charged with Going Equip to Cheat.

The RVIPF announced the charge, but did not give details of the allegations.

Matos, however, was nabbed after she arrived at the Terrence B Lettsome International Airport from her native Dominican Republic.

A search of her luggage allegedly revealed hundreds of Speedy’s ferry tickets, which were not ordered by the ferry company.

The accused woman is reportedly claiming that she was asked to drop the tickets off to a male person here in the British Virgin Islands.
