Pregnant woman, minors injured in hit-and-run

A woman and two minors travelling in this vehicle were injured in the crash.

Three persons comprising a pregnant woman and two minors were injured during a traffic accident on Monday evening, February 5.

The crashed happened on the James Walter Francis Dual Highway in Road Town and appears to be a hit-and-run.

Reports are that three vehicles were involved in the collision.

BVI News understands that the motorist who fled the scene was driving behind two vehicles around minutes before 7pm.

It is reported that the motorist in question collided into the back of the vehicle immediately in front of him, causing that vehicle to crash into a Nissan Cube carrying a family of five.

The first motorist reportedly drove away, leaving the other two vehicles behind.

Police and an ambulance were called to the scene and a woman and two minors were taken to Peebles Hospital where they are being treated. The other two occupants, a man and a boy, appeared to be virtually unharmed.

Police officers were conducting investigations when BVI News arrived at the crash site.

Investigations are ongoing.

    How many times is there a car stopped in the 2nd lane to let people out. Hope this is not why! Hope all are OK. Also hope people start to understand why there are rules of the road. Scooter drivers not included of course.!!
