Rotaract donates learning supplies to Autism Centre

The BVI Autism Centre is the latest beneficiary of donations from the Rotaract Club.

The Centre received learning supplies, sensory toys, and other educational materials at their Road Town location on Thursday, April 12.

According to Rotaract, the supplies were donated to help replenish what the Autism Centre lost during the September 2017 hurricanes.

“We look forward to not only continuing our work with the Centre but also their post-hurricane revival efforts,” said Jevaughn Rhymer, a representative of Rotaract District 7020, which comprises Anguilla, the BVI, and The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Haiti, St Martin, St Maarten, Turks and Caicos Islands, and the US Virgin Islands.

“It’s our pleasure to stand with our Caribbean family as they make this donation towards the Autism Centre,” added local District Representative for Rotaract, Kezra Lashley.

Meanwhile, Director of the Autism Centre Lorna Dawson expressed gratitude as she accepted the donation on Thursday.

“We appreciate all that you have done for us to make our work so much better,” she said.

Dawson also commended the Club for their interaction with the students.

Rotaract made the donation to the BVI Autism Centre in time for World Autism Month, which is recognised in April.
