Two charged following murder of Frankie Fahie

The bar where the murder unfolded

As part of ongoing investigations regarding the murder of businessman Frankie Fahie, detectives of the Major Crime Team last night charged two residents of Tortola.

Kenaz Hazell, 21, of Purcell Estate, was charged with conspiracy to rob.

Rebekha Persaud, 26, of Josiah’s Bay, was charged with perverting the course of justice.

Both are scheduled to appear in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, June 16.

Hazell and Persaud were arrested yesterday morning.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, in a media release, did not say if anyone was held regarding the actual murder of Fahie.

The shooting took place on the night of January 6 this year, while Fahie and patrons were at Fahie Boy’s Bar, also known as F&S Bar, in Long Look, Tortola.

A gunman fatally shot Fahie and robbed a bar patron of jewellery and money.

He then escaped on foot.

Fahie was the first murder victim for the year in the British Virgin Islands. Since then, five other people have been murdered locally.
