Two charged following murder of Frankie Fahie

The bar where the murder unfolded

As part of ongoing investigations regarding the murder of businessman Frankie Fahie, detectives of the Major Crime Team last night charged two residents of Tortola.

Kenaz Hazell, 21, of Purcell Estate, was charged with conspiracy to rob.

Rebekha Persaud, 26, of Josiah’s Bay, was charged with perverting the course of justice.

Both are scheduled to appear in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, June 16.

Hazell and Persaud were arrested yesterday morning.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, in a media release, did not say if anyone was held regarding the actual murder of Fahie.

The shooting took place on the night of January 6 this year, while Fahie and patrons were at Fahie Boy’s Bar, also known as F&S Bar, in Long Look, Tortola.

A gunman fatally shot Fahie and robbed a bar patron of jewellery and money.

He then escaped on foot.

Fahie was the first murder victim for the year in the British Virgin Islands. Since then, five other people have been murdered locally.

      Reading is fundamental @ ?

And give the police bit more time. They are very very close. If u know a person ‘conspires’ u r almost sure to know the trigger person in this instance.

@Good book, thank you for simple common sense and reasoning!! Not so common obviously.

      I am confused myself.

Reading is fundamental but the headlines make it appear that they were charged for the murder. Its after reading into the story you know Kenaz was “charged with conspiracy to rob”.

      So who kill Frankie now?

Congratulations to the hard working detectives of the BVI Royal Virgin Island Police Force. From experience this case is rapped up. The trigger man would be arrested later or extradited. I am proud of you guys. Keep up the good works.

They have to act on what evidence they have and maybe they have not found where the trigger man hiding yet. But people don’t jump to condemn these people yet. Innocent until proven guilty.
