UPDATE: Dore turns himself in

Olanzo Dore

Olanzo Dore is now in police custody after he turned himself in late yesterday evening, said the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

The 31-year-old native of St Kitts has been charged with escaping lawful custody.

Police had sought the assistance of the Virgin Gorda community in locating Dore, who they said escaped custody after the Magistrate’s Court on Virgin Gorda placed him on remand last week Friday afternoon.

“Virgin Gorda police extends their gratitude to the community for bringing a safe and peaceful end to their search,” the RVIPF said this afternoon, May 2.

It has not specified the charge on which Dore initially was brought before the court and remanded.

But the RVIPF announced late last year that Dore, who resides at North Sound on Virgin Gorda, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
