Vehicle burns

A motor vehicle went up in flames in the Belmont Estate area of Tortola this morning, April 18.

Up to publication time, Chief Fire Officer Zebulon McLean said fire-fighters were still on the scene.

It is not yet clear to BVI News Online if anyone has been injured. The cause of the fire is also not known at this time.

“We got a report of a vehicle fire at Belmont. The guys left to tend to the fire. We have not gotten any information back regarding any major aspect… The details such as what sort vehicle, where it was, the cause; we don’t have that yet until they radio back or bring the information back,” McLean further told BVI News Online.

Thank you to the Fire Department and the men that came all the way from town to help extinguish this vehicle which without their help it could have spread to the high tension wires and caused real havoc.
