We never raised our prices – RTW

“We have not raised any prices since the hurricanes.” – RiteWay

While residents complain that businesses have been hiking their prices, Roadtown Wholesale (RTW) is claiming that it lowered its prices since Hurricane Irma.

RTW owns and operates RiteWay Supermarket, Fine Foods, and Cash & Carry in the BVI.

“[RTW] can assure you that we have not raised any prices since the hurricanes have taken place. In fact, we have reduced prices on water, juices, cleaning supplies, and other essential products,” said Managing Director, Guy Strickland.

“We recognize that we have an important role to play in supporting and rebuilding the community at this time and we take that very serious[ly] and promise to do our best to continue to serve the people of the BVI in the best way we can,” Strickland further said.

The businessman, in the meantime, announced that RTW will be adding generators to its list of products.

“Our 3500 watt generators will be sold at $399.99 and will make electricity available to families until the supply is returned by the BVI Electricity department. We are also expecting a container of tarps, ropes and duct tape late next week which will be donated to the government of BVI for distribution.”

Strickland added that the food company has reopened its supermarket on Virgin Gorda as well as its Pasea Estate location on Tortola.

Fine Foods and Cash & Carry on Tortola have also been reopened.

“We hope to have East End open within the next few weeks,” Strickland said.
