Woman stabbed to death – 6 murders in 6 months

A man who was shot in Jamaica in 2014 is being questioned in relation to the fatal hacking of his Jamaican wife this evening in the Greenland community of East End, Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

The man, who is originally from St Vincent and the Grenadines, is in police custody.

However, he, up to publication time, was not charged.

The woman so far has been identified only as Sherika.

“Police attended the scene of a homicide of a female this evening at a home in the Greenland area. Further details are not available at this time. Investigations are ongoing,” said Diane Drayton, information officer at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.

The murder this evening is the sixth being reported in the British Virgin Islands since the start of the year.

Man was shot in Jamaica

The relationship has had a history of grief.

The man, who is being questioned, was shot multiple times by gunmen during a robbery on April 8, 2014 while he visited the late woman in Jamaica.

At the time of the shooting, he was at the woman’s house in the Old Pasley area of Palmers Cross, Clarendon.

The man was admitted to the May Pen Hospital for some time before he was released.

He then returned to the British Virgin Islands.

Jamaican police, at the time of the incident, claimed that the man had visited Jamaica to marry the woman.

The wedding subsequently took place and the woman relocated to the British Virgin Islands.
