16-yr-old charged for offensive weapon

BVI News understands that a 16-year-old male was this week charged with indecent language and being armed with an offensive weapon after an alleged altercation with an adult male relative.

Our news centre was informed that the accused young man is a Jamaican citizen.

It’s understood that the two were at the house in Long Bush where they reside with other family members.

An argument allegedly ensued when the adult relative cautioned the accused young man about his use of the bathroom facilities.

While he was speaking, the accused retaliated with indecent language and then pulled a knife which he allegedly used to threaten the relative.

It is reported that the police were summoned as a result. BVI News understands that the law enforcers arrived at the house and arrested the young man for his use of indecent language and for threatening to harm his relative with a knife.

It is also understood that the relative has insisted he wants the matter to proceed to court.

However, our news centre has not been able to ascertain whether the young man was detained or when he will appear in court to answer to the charges.

I used to think that this site reports with integrity but I have changed my views now. What does nationality have to do with anything at this point? Ya’ll like to belittle a whole nation over one bad apple. Why you don’t say a Tolan man or woman? It always has to be stated as soon as the person is from St. Vincent, Santo, Guyana, Jamaica, etc. Do better

Simple fact, it was a Jamaican. No lie told. And, it’s not just one time that a Jamaican has been in trouble. I have nothing against any islander from any island. The BVI consists of islands as well. It is just a fact it happens to be a Jamaican. This news site does mention when it is a BVIslander in question.
Off of that now, the family member handled the matter well. Our young men playing bad men so they need to be treated as such. They have no respect for themselves nor their elders. Let him serve his punishment and then send him back to his homeland to be a nuisance there. We have enough of our own to contend with.
