2018 Food Fete on, kicks off this month
The BVI Tourist Board is continuing with its efforts to restore local tourism with the annual BVI Food Fete event.
This year’s Food Fete will last for a month and the Tourist Board is kicking things off with a grand launch.
The launch is being held at Callwood’s Distillery in Cane Garden Bay on June 29.
Food Fete 2018 will be taking place at multiple locations across the territory including Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Cooper Island, the Tourist Board has said.
The Board further said the launch will feature some of the territory’s “most popular cooks”.
Meanwhile, the culinary event is promising to include what is being described as ‘authentic Virgin Islands food’, historic BVI rum flavours, and culture.
This year’s BVI Food Fete is being organised nearly a year after one major flood and two category-five hurricanes smashed into the territory and massively interrupted local tourism, livelihoods, and the BVI economy on a whole.

why does that food not look nice?
And very unhealthy too. Yuk. BVI just not ready for anything. Pity. Who’s for tae?
A complete joke event. None of the BVIs leading chefs or restaurants are involved in this waste of taxpayers money. Only the crony as usual.
They could’ve used a better picture buddy. Them wing don’t even look like they were floured. Jeez if it was up to that picture to promote the food fair no hope sah.
This picture speaks to the
level of support that is extended to our domestic tourism
Product or the absence of an editorial policy….or certainly one that is sensitive to our promotional efforts.
It is well known that BIB is a regional leader in gastronomic offerings…..not just fried chicken.
On the last line…delete BIB and replace with BVI.
@hmmm that food does not look nice because there is no dead animal carcas pictured. A hog with an apple in its mouth would look so much better.
They replaced the food picture.
Now everything is covered in plastic.
Lol, you couldn’t make it up.
That’s the third picture now. It’s chicken and chips. Cutting edge grub.
Even the sauce in the glass is laughing at that one.
complain complain complain complain.
This is great advertisement for the tourism sector. (Remember? One of two pillars) not advertising to save money is like stopping your watch to save time. Stupid and shortsighted. What have you done that helps the recovery?
They changed the picture. Why the mean comments still?
BVI has some of the worst food in the world. overpriced and not fresh. stop trying to front
