22-year-old jailed for beating babymother
BVI News understands that a 22-year-old man was recently arrested and jailed after physically assaulting his girlfriend who is also the mother of his child.
It’s understood that the couple has been in a longstanding, abusive relationship. On the night of the reported abuse, the the man allegedly got angry after his girlfriend returned home after spending several hours with her friends.
Our news centre was told that the 22-year-old accused the woman of cheating on him and proceeded to punch her all over her body as she laid in bed. In an attempt to escape the blows, the woman reportedly ran into another room and closed the door. However, her angry spouse tried to break the door in order to continue his assault, BVI News undersatnds.
It’s unclear whether he succeeded in breaking the door, but BVI News was told that the victim had to seek medical attention for her injuries. However, our news centre was not able to ascertain the extent of those injuries.
The police were also called and the alleged abuser was arrested and charged. It is understood that he has since been granted bail at an undisclosed amount and is set to appear in the Magistrate’s Court some time in December.

Somewhere along his short life, he apparently came to believe that this behavior is acceptable. Well, I guess he is finding out the hard way. Somebody needed to tell this boy what being a man is, and it’s not beating women.
The fact that he has a kid @ 22 also says something about him already.
No one owns anyone. Keep your hands to yourself. Nothing wrong with having a civil conversation, but violence is a no no.
Now, all this will lead to is another broken family as it’s likely mother, father, and child will not survive as a unit, and the cycle of single parenting and broken homes continues.
