37-year-old arrested for beating his child’s mother
BVI News understands that a 37-year-old man from the Fort Hill community was arrested his week after assaulting the mother of his child.
Reports reaching our news centre are that the couple is no longer in a relationship. It is alleged that the accused man visited the victim’s home unannounced and the two got into an argument after the offender accused the victim of being in a relationship with another man.
During the argument, the accused reportedly hit the woman all over her body. It is understood that she sustained eye injuries and bruises all over her body.
It’s unclear whether the victim received medical care after the incident but sources say the accused also threatened to take her life.
The incident was later reported and the police visited the accused and questioned him about the alleged incident. The man reportedly denied the allegations and told cops that he and the victim only argued briefly over a matter involving their child.
He was reportedly arrested after the woman showed evidence of bruises and swellings on her body.
In the meantime, it’s unclear whether the man has been offered bail and when he is set to appear in court to answer to charges.
