65-y-o dies as COVID climbs in USVI
As the BVI continues to enjoy a COVID-19-free community, cases in the neighbouring US Virgin Islands (USVI) are on the increase, with a 65-year-old being the latest to die of the virus.
The USVI Health Department last night confirmed that the 65-year-old man lived on St Croix. His death is the twenty-second COVID-related death in that territory which currently has 37 active cases.
On Friday, the USVI recorded 14 new cases. This was one day after the Virgin Islands Daily News – a USVI local newspaper – published a story telling visitors not to visit the BVI because of ‘stringent’ protocols.
Health authorities said six of the new cases are linked to a cargo vessel in the St Thomas Harbour.
With the increase in cases, health authorities told the USVI public that staying home is the best way to protect themselves and others.
The USVI has already recorded more than one thousand COVID-19 cases

Stop citing realism and facts to the Belonger. It’s a waste of time. They know everything and Covid is an attempt to annihilate the Blacks of the world. Not worth telling them that the death rate is less than 5% of those that become infected. Also, needless to say but the one death in the USVI pales against the number murdered or from heart disease that blacks experience due to their diet.
Don’t forget the diabetes rate in BVI. It’s more deadly than Covid. Jus sayin…
Even for the people who get covid and recover we dont know the long term impact or future complications related to the disease
Y’all are Petty lmao
Wow sorry to hear and my condolences to the family. He must have been white because the black man is strong and has teas, herbs and other African cures. Wish the black people would share their cure with the rest of the world and the scientific community. How’s those teas and herbs working on the Dengue fever?
120,000k residents. 1,000 cases and only 22 passed. .0002% mortality rate base on population. 2.2% mortality rate based on cases of infection.
What are we talking about?
30,000 residents, unknown number of cases, 0 deaths that’s a 0% mortality rate for herpes. Do you want it on your genitals or mouth?
And still USVI is open, with tourists visiting AND SPENDING MONEY.
BVI no tourists, no money.
