7 illegal immigrants detained on Great Thatch
The following is a media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
Seven illegal immigrants are now in the custody of immigration officers after being detained on Great Thatch early this morning.
Following notification from the US Coast Guard of a suspicious vessel in BVI waters around 4:30am, the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue and officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force responded, and the Joint Task Force was activated.
Six nationals of Cuba and one national of St Kitts and Nevis were detained including a nine-month-old infant.
The 50’ monohull sailboat, believed to be the vessel that transported the seven, was recovered in waters nearby.
Investigations are ongoing in the matter.

Leh we see how much of them get away before Monday.
So US Coast Guard patrolling our waters officially now?
They coulda swim across to st.john
Can a 9month old INFANT swim over to St.John???? You must be a special kind of moomoo
@WERE ALMOST THERE, SOOOO HOW IS A 9 MONTH OLD BABY SUPPOSE TO SWIM TO DRY LAND. LETS SEE HOW LONG IT IS GOING TO TAKE BEFORE THEY START BOLTING FROM HOTEL DETENTION.
That person who made that comment obviously is a special kind of stupid
In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, who will be the first to bolt while the inept security sit in LA LA LAND WITH HIS/HER MOUTH WIDE OPEN DROOLING AND CATCHING FLIES. LMAOOOO.
No USCG not patrolling BVI waters, but it is USCG jurisdiction. the USCG do have radar and surveillance that can tell boats and planes that come into area. we should be happy that someone is looking!!!
Is we own local people bringing them here and guess wah officials are aware of such activities, when they are captured they sit here for a long time until they get a job to Rome around the street..check the amount of Venezuelan in the country without entry stamp, they just using tortola as a back door to tortola
@Hmmm, perhaps The United States Coast Guard is patrolling and watching our waters from a distance. If they are. I welcome it. They are to damn lax when it comes to border patrol and border security in the BVI. Anything can crawl up on the BVI shores.
Seven (7) illegal immigrants including a 9 month old. Assuming that they were not fused together and could separate themselves, themselves, they, excluding the unfortunate infant, and its murderous baby killer charge/ parent could have possibly swim across and maybe some that got away did just that.
Criticizing for the sake of criticizing makes Jack donkeys more donk e y..is,a typical blackish trait.

Please correct this article. They are not illegal immigrants. They are migrant workers. The whole world knows that…
Bvi is lax at patrolling only when there are fewer boats. High season expect customs and police boats to be out in force. More targets = more money.
USCG is more diligent and actually performs a duty. Not like our lazy government employees
We need to get help from the UK with this constant problem. Don’t be too proud to ask and accept help.
Let’s hope so.
