InterCaribbean Airways today announced that it increase destinations from Beef Island (EIS) in the British Virgin Islands, with new non-stop flights to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

The service, which will be provided with 30-seater Embraer120 equipment, will commence on May 3.
InterCaribbean currently offers nonstop flights from Beef Island to both San Juan and Antigua, giving increased connectivity to Tortola.

Trevor Sadler, interCaribbean Chief Executive Officer, said: “Tortola is a great destination covering a wide range of tourist possibilities, especially for sailing, with quite possibly the largest sailing fleet world-wide. The BVI offers unique islands, fabulous boutique resorts and exclusive villas.”

“We are happy to be adding another nonstop destination to Tortola to increase the connections to the BVI, and open a new Caribbean connection point especially for Latin America,” said the airline, which is based in Turks and Caicos Islands.

It added that the new service increases the arrival points into Beef Island. “For those for whom entry via the USA is not an option, InterCaribbean continues to expand and provide welcome service to the Caribbean Community as it seeks to increase tourism arrivals,” added the airline.

“For BVI citizens and residents, the opportunity [will exist] to spend time for shopping in the Dominican Republic, whose selections of shopping malls are on par with the best, giving great brand shopping and affordable options. Santo Domingo is positively one of the most romantic destinations. Stay in the old city in historic 500-year-old hotels, [and] walk to the square to enjoy dining and entertainment. All of this [can be done] on an affordable budget while enjoying the very best.”

The initial flights between the BVI and Santo Domingo will operate as follows:
