Airport operations resume locally

Operations have now resumed at the Terrance B Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island following its sudden closure on Friday afternoon.

The BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA) said all the territory’s airports resumed normal operations at 7 am on Saturday, May 27.

Accroding to Managing Director of the BVIAA Kurt Menal, the airports were forced to close after the Authority could not satisfy the minimum requirement in staffing levels to ensure continuous operations of the Control Tower in accordance with applicable regulations.

Menal added that upon realising that the Authority was unable to satisfy this requirement, the management and operations teams immediately met to develop an operational contingency plan to allow operations to continue, “which was only possible through 1 pm on Friday”.

In the meantime, Chairman of the BVIAA’s Board of Directors, Theodore Burke apologised to the travelling public for inconvenience caused by the disruption.

Kurt, best you figure out how things in the VI works. Only during hurricanes we close the airports!

If you like your job, shape up. Locals looking work.

This matter needs a press address, Kurt has to come before the people, the issue sounds multi layered, we are not been shown the full picture!

More questions than answers! Waiting on Kurt M.

Kurt isn’t your slave. There’s no reason why he should
care what you think about the airport running. That’s his job, not yours. Can you imagine if we all had to tell everyone what we do
in our jobs when some moron insists they need to know?

  3. Ayo people says:
