It is now only a matter of weeks before the Ivan Dawson Primary School campus reopens.

United States non-profit group All Hands and Hearts – Smart Response handed the school back over to local authorities at the weekend during a ceremony to mark their successful completion of rehabilitative works to the facility.

The school was retrofitted with a modern play area, renovated classrooms, among other things. Both teachers and students celebrated the All Hands and Hearts team for their effort.

Education Minister Myron Walwyn also said he is grateful for the contribution from the non-profit group which has been volunteering at local schools since the September 2017 hurricanes.

“My team and I stopped by the Ivan Dawson Primary School to thank All Hands and Hearts for the magnificent work they have done to renovate this institution.”

“We will re-open this institution at the end of this month. The students, as you can see, are very elated about getting back in their classrooms,” Walwyn said.

Like the majority of other local schools, Ivan Dawson Primary underwent a thrashing from the Hurricane Irma.

Thanks Norwegian Cruise Line. At the least the NDP should have commended you for such a wonderful donation.

  5. Thankyou says:

God bless you, Hearts & Hands. We truly appreciate your effort in assisting our school at CGBay. The Government said thanks too.

This was a job well done but not without problems. Remember these volunteers getting caught up in our immigration farce and then having their efforts diverted to clean up non-storm damaged areas for personal preference of local politicians. All of this endangers our reputation and the availability of further help. Let’s sort it out. Meanwhile, we need a modern high school or two with proper teachers and we need those kids off the streets and engaged by the teaching staff who are currently on half days and other community leaders. Those churches that con you all into tything need to step up also.

    What a great job!!

What saddens me, though, is that all of the learning of our so-called architects and engineers cannot render any of the other public learning institutions in need of repairs, these ttpes of aesthetics.

Take note representatives: Proper educational attainment from reputable institutions is the key to gurantee proper architectural, landscapical, and engineral outcomes such as this!
