BVI welcomes Christmas Day baby
As the clock struck into the early hours of Christmas Day 2025, the territory celebrated the arrival of its newest resident, marking a heartwarming start to the holiday.
Kayla Lewis gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 4.105 kilograms at approximately 1 am on Wednesday, December 25, at the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital, according to the BVI Health Services Authority.
The little one, being the only baby born on Christmas Day, received a special visit from Deputy Governor David Archer, who came bearing thoughtful gifts to honour the joyous occasion.
The celebration extended to the hospital’s annual tree party, a cherished tradition where officials visit patients throughout the hospital to spread holiday cheer. This year, the birth of the Christmas baby added an extra sparkle to the festivities.
For the Lewis family, this Christmas will undoubtedly be one to remember—a day filled with love, joy, and the promise of new beginnings.
