BVIHSA pushing HPV vaccine for children

The BVI Health Services Authority is pushing for an increase in the vaccination of young boys and girls against the Human papillomavirus (HPV).

HPV is the most common Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and is common among people in their late teens and early 20s.

Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Manager at the BVIHSA, Marina Bedeau said cervical cancer, a long-term effect of HPV, is one of the most prevalent forms of cancer and cause of death among women in the Caribbean, Latin American and North American region.

She noted that the HPV vaccine helps to protect young girls from contracting the virus and developing cervical cancer later in their lives.

“So, we are targeting the girls now at 10 years. Some girls get it as young as nine years of age — the HPV vaccine. There have been studies with the HPV vaccine among girls who have had the vaccines in the UK over the last 20 years and they are now realizing that within that age there is a decline in persons showing any signs of cervical cancer,” Nurse Bedeau said.

“So, we are about to start a little drive again to our young girls to protect them from getting cervical cancer. Currently we are also doing boys now for that HPV vaccine because they can also show signs of genital warts. So, we are also doing the boys with HPV vaccines,” she continued.

There are several types of HPV and some can cause severe health problems including cancer and cervical warts.

The virus is most commonly spread through sexual intercourse because of the close skin-to-skin contact during sex. A person with HPV can pass the infection to someone even when they have no signs or symptoms.

If sexually active, someone can get HPV, even if they have had sex with only one person. Symptoms can develop years after having sex with someone who has the infection and this makes it hard to know when someone contracted it first.

For God’s sake, leave these children alone. Do not allow foreign interests with their selfish interests to push us further on this issue of Vaccine. Check the most vaccinated countries, they are still battling…. Are we monitoring adverse reaction in BVI? Is the number of death in BVI in the last 1 year significantly higher than prior years? If yes, have we examined to ensure this is not traceable to the vaccination? Of course our medical system seems to have aligned with powers that be in Europe and America to padlock the mouth of its citizens not to make any comment that is in conflict with the stand of new order rulers. Do you know that these children were naturally “vaccinated” while in passage through their birth canal? Do you know that with proper breast feeding by a mother, who is committed to a healthy life style, boosts the child’s natural immune system, far exceeding the potency in any of these covid vaccines? I challenge our medical system to run a research on the immunity of the unvaccinated that tested positive covid but recovered naturally and compare same with the vaccinated who tested positive, hospitalized and recovered. Are our records showing a high number of the vaccinated are now developing complications requiring constant medical attention? Can we look at the number of deaths in the last 12 months in which primary and secondary causes were traced to blood clots and compare with prior periods?. We are a nation of about 30,000 residents. No room for experiments. Those who chose to experiment with their citizens are now importing workforce from third world countries where vaccination has been very low. Leave these children alone
