Cabinet approves Scatliffe as BVIEC Chairman
Cabinet has confirmed the appointment of Sheldon Scatliffe as Chairman of the BVI Electricity Corporation’s (BVIEC) Board.
This is according to a post-meeting statement issued by Cabinet from its June 7 meeting chaired by Governor John Rankin.
Scatliffe is expected to serve for an initial three-year term and may be reappointed for a further three years.
However, the release said the appointment is expected to be effective from the date the approval is obtained through a resolution passed in the House of Assembly (HOA).
The Cabinet decided that the Ministry of Communications & Works will now instruct the Attorney General’s Chambers to draft the HOA resolution.
According to the Cabinet release, the Chairman of the Board is expected to be paid $1,000 per month for his services on the BVI Electricity Corporation’s Board.
The Corporation’s website shows that Scatliffe previously held a role as an ordinary member of the BVIEC’s board.
Scatliffe also serves as the Director of Finance at the BVI Financial Services Commission where he has been employed since 2006.
