Local authorities have launched a probe into the death of a Canadian man who died while vacationing in the British Virgin Islands this month.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said Zdenek Tesar “died as a result of a marine incident” on Virgin Gorda last Friday, December 20.

“The matter is currently under investigation and Mr Tesar’s wife is being kept updated on the progress of the police investigation,” the RVIPF said in a short media release on Monday.
