Telecoms company CCT said it has signed an agreement as the official ‘Platinum Telecommunications Sponsor’ of the 63rd annual emancipation festival to be held from July 23 to August 12.

When contacted about the monetary value of the sponsorship, Public Relations Supervisor at the only locally owned telecoms company Sheroma Hodge-Philip told BVI News Online that the figure is not being disclosed at this time.

CCT however said the ‘Platinum Telecommunications Sponsorship’ is inclusive of prizes for all the various pageant and competition winners including Miss British Virgin Islands, Prince and Princess, Mr and Miss Junior BVI, as well as Calypso and Soca Monarchs.

Chief Executive Officer of the telecoms company Averad Penn, in a media release, commented: “CCT prides ourselves on being the ‘home team’ and as such we are strong advocates of BVI (British Virgin Islands) culture. This sponsorship enables us to do our part to contribute to an integral part of BVI heritage.”

The company added, “CCT will also be an official ticket outlet for all BVI emancipation festival events. CCT customers on social media are encouraged to join in the festivities by using their smartphones to post pictures of themselves at the Festival events using the hashtags #CCTisWeFestival63 and #FeteUnlimited.”
