Child injured! Many more could’ve died in double murder incident

Last Friday’s daring early evening shooting that claimed the lives of 28-year-old Kadeem Frett of Long Look and 38-year-old Kawa Cornwall of Long Bush also injured a minor.

The minor and another male who was injured during the shooting are now in stable condition but Police Commissioner Mark Collins indicated that several more people could have been killed during the East End incident.

Commissioner Collins described the shootings as brazen and reckless.

“So many more persons could have lost their lives during the early evening hours of this vicious assault. It shows a grave disregard for human life not often seen in this Territory which impacts the entire community. We are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible. Any information is considered valuable at this point,” the top cop stated.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said it is “appealing for information as to what led to this incident therefore persons are being asked for assistance with a motive”.

“Witnesses are also being asked to come forward with information. Persons with information can contact the Major Crime Team at 368-5682 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

Locals won’t rat out the murderers. Everyone related and inbred. That is “the” most significant problem with the BVI. U.K. Please take over and clean up this madness. This is all caused by the offspring of the ruling families.

  2. Commissioner Mark Collins says:

    Dear Commissioner,
Can the magnitude of the problem be resolved with just a team of police. The corruption seems to be beyond BVI borders and has been growing for decades. It seems without much impunity. Greater security like a military or special forces might help protect the people. The comments alone, when it was first reported (on another site), are very scary. The weight is heart heavy.

We know all the hotspots. Put darned cameras up everywhere there is a propensity for such violence. Purcell Cage, Stuckey, 42nd street, Bellevue, Westbank areas, strip clubs, regular clubs, Long Bush, Lower Estate courts, main bars.

Start locking them up and sending them away to serve their time so they aren’t comfortable here. Family can’t visit. No special meals. Can’t come out to impregnate multiple women. Can’t send orders from the prison easily to the street. Can’t have gold and jewelry showing off in the jail. Can’t have gangster parties in the prison. Let them serve real jail time! Send them UK.

No police prevents crime. They only solve some crimes and give out traffic tickets and serve summons. They can only arrest after the fact. Preventing crime only happens with intelligence and deterrents. Like community engagement and trust building. Cameras. Truly confidential informants.

Which bar did this happen at?

  12. Prison says:

A quick google of the deceased reveals a list of charges, some without bail. How were they even in a bar? (the shooter too could probably be someone on bail?). There are a lot of connected charges and a seemingly missed opportunities to take crime off the street.

Great Idea!!! Yes, input like this is so valuable. Possibly shadow persons were monitoring the criminal system, perhaps without the Ministers knowledge, aware of what cameras do, and would not propose that choice due to the nefarious intentions. Then also, posing a threat to anyone who spoke up. That’s the only reason I can imagine. All store businesses over the world have camera security and more. It’s part of the business. It’s 2022 and it’s interesting that there is so little technology even for such important security. Thank you

  15. @@Commissioner says:

Perhaps not that day, but going out in “GREEN” is saturated in corruption. Whose to blame has no place in my comment. Be gentle with people. That’s a good start. The world can be a better place no matter what emotional issue. Thank you.

  16. @Commissioner Mark Collins says:

We see what is being telegraphed here. No, we are not fools. What is being telegraphed here by Commissioner Mark Collins is a disguise for UK invasion of the territory, and take over of the BVI’ Financial services, other resources and to provide a paradise for its citizens at our expense.

Don’t be fooled by those words people. There is a hidde agenda there that they think we are blind and docile to see.. We must point out these behind the back schemes, agitate against them and be prepared to do more when necessary.

Everyone can’t complain about corruption if no one is willing choose to stand up for righteousness. Either you turn them in or and do the right thing or you don’t… If we don’t make examples of the ones who do wrong we cant praise those who do good. that’s just noise…

  19. Ask the politicians..... says:

Especially those in cabinet. If the topic of CCTV cameras throughout the territory to help prevent and solve crimes came up in cabinet WOULD YOU SUPPORT OR NOT? I think people would be VERY interested to see where the denial for such an initiative is coming from. The money is there. The expertise is there. Cabinet DENY DENY DENY…. And now there’s two more deceased young men that could still be with us today. Do I blame our government to an extent? ABSOLUTELY.
