Colombian nationals MIA after cruise visit

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIRPF) is seeking the public’s help in locating three cruise passengers who went missing after their ship, the Norwegian Sky, docked on Sunday, March 10.

The missing individuals were identified as Jean Carlo Ospina Cano, Pamela Mesa Escobar, and Yesica Yojana Marin Ramirez — all Colombian nationals. They reportedly did not return to the ship after visiting the territory.

The incident comes weeks after a Brazilian couple, Ana Carolina Thomé and Diego Cabral, went missing after visiting the territory but were later found safe.

The couple missed their cruise ship’s departure on January 6 due to health reasons and chose to stay overnight. The next day, they flew to St Maarten, continuing their trip. Initially, there was concern for their whereabouts, but they were in contact with the cruise ship crew and took measures to ensure their safety.

In the meantime, authorities have released photos of the missing Colombian nationals and asked that anyone with information on the whereabouts of the trio to contact the RVIPF hotline at 311. The Department of Immigration can also be reached at 468-4717, 468-4754, or 468-4705.

  1. Hey reporter says:

Why would you continue to put the Brazilian couple on blast. When you write a story do you have so little to say that you need to publish their names on this piece. You should add your name to these posts.

time to stop the influx of ship jumping cruise passengers. Ban cruise ships for a few years and this problem will solve itself.

  4. Hmmm says:

This is why when Immigration officers, who received special training for the job, are trying to do their job everyone starts to intervene when people complain.

They say if you do not have a US Visa, you cannot disembark the cruise ship, and Government hit the roof. Now we know the reason. Let the Immigration officers do the jobs they were trained to do.
