Cruise ship passenger dies after falling ill on tour

A cruise ship passenger from London, England, died after falling ill during a tour of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) last week Friday, February 3.
He has been identified as Leith Pond, 71.
Reports reaching BVI News Online are that the visitor arrived in the territory aboard Ventura Cruise Ship.
While on an island tour in the afternoon, he complained to his wife that he was feeling unwell.
His condition swiftly worsened, and it appeared he was not breathing, BVI News Online has been told.
Pond was taken to Peebles Hospital via ambulance.
He was pronounced dead at the medical facility.
The matter has been brought to the attention of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.
