CTL offering pre-Black Friday sale, accompanying free ferry for VG residents

Clarence Thomas Limited (CTL) Home Centre will be having a pre-Black Friday sale on Saturday, November 23 and will be offering discounts of up to 30 percent at their Fish Bay location on Tortola.

The sale will also include a free ferry shuttle service for customers from the sister island of Virgin Gorda.

In a recent press briefing, CTL’s Managing Director Michael Thomas said: “On the 23rd we decided to do our pre-Black Friday sale because I don’t want CTL to have to overly compete with all the other vendors on the island, so we kind of want to do something a little different to set us apart.”

Partnership with Speedy’s

Explaining the ‘free shuttle service’ initiative which is a joint partnership with sponsor Speedy’s, Thomas further said residents from Virgin Gorda who intend to take part in the sale will have up until Wednesday, November 20 to register at their Virgin Gorda branch to be eligible for the free service.

“We actually want to bring our customers from Virgin Gorda for free to CTL on the 23rd to actually take part in this event and they’re going to return at 8 o’clock in the evening after the store has closed,” Thomas stated.

“You have to go to the store in Virgin Gorda to register, they will give you a one-way ticket to come down and as you pay for your product on this end, they will give you a return ticket to go back up on the boat,” he added.

Expected to expand to other islands once successful

Thomas also explained the reason behind the initiative and said once it is successful, it will be expanded to include the other two sister islands in 2020.

“We want our Virgin Gorda clients to feel a part of what we are doing because the store in Virgin Gorda is way smaller and this store has so much more to offer, so we want to bring them down so they can actually experience this.”

“If it works out very well, we’re looking at Anegada and Jost Van Dyke for next year God’s willing so they can be a part of what we’re going to do,” Thomas noted.

Other activities

Thomas also said there will be a number of other activities expected to occur during the day, which include CTL’s first-ever Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a live performance from Virgin Gorda’s Final Faze Band, food and drinks by Bell’s Café, a jumping tent for the children, and special deals from CCT.

The main offer of up to 30 percent store-wide is scheduled to run from 4 pm to 8 pm.
