Curfew tightened! BVI now has community spread as cases hit 821
The government has decided to tighten the territory’s curfew which will now run from 7 pm to 5 am daily, effective Friday, July 9.
Health Minister Carvin Malone made that announcement moments ago amid confirmed reports that BVI now has “community spread” of the dreaded COVID-19 virus.
This term means a spread in which the source of infection is unknown.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronald Georges said in the joint late-night broadcast on Thursday that there are now some 821 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the BVI. Twelve have been hospitalised.
Dr Georges also confirmed the death of a young male patient who reportedly died after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He died at the Dr D Orlando Hospital.
5K more cases projected
Meanwhile, National Epidemiologist Harmonie Massiah said as much as 5,000 cases have been projected for the territory given the current surge.
Dr Georges expressed that the current surge is likely to be extended for a further four to six weeks.
He explained that the virus is doubling at an average rate of every two days based on current trends.
According to Dr Georges, the BVI is strongly suspected to have the highly transmissible delta variant of the virus, but this has not yet been confirmed by health officials.
Stay-at-home advisory
As for the increased restrictions in movement of the public, Minister Malone said “Cabinet also decide that for 14 days effective July 9th, 2021, persons will be advised to limit their movement and stay at home where possible.” The minister further said no loitering or gathering is encouraged.
He said these decisions will be reviewed on a regular basis to determine whether further measures including 24-hour lockdown may be required to reduce the spread of COVID-19 locally.

Now over a year later the same idiots hope you forgot the manure they were spewing and guess what they have new theories for the pandemic.
Last year it wasn’t a virus, it was health issues that were caused by 5G. This year it is a plot by the evil genius Bill Gates with his devious plot to eradicate the world’s population. Somehow this legion of doom managed to brainwash the World’s governments into accepting the false claims of a virus to do their bidding. They created this deadly vaccine which is actually poison. Can you imagine what the conversation was like when Bill Gates called Carvin to help push the poisoning of his fellow citizens, neighbors and colleagues?
