CXC Jamaica closes amid Hurricane Beryl! Barbados HQ reopens

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has announced the closure of their Western Zone Office in Jamaica in anticipation of Hurricane Beryl.

In a press release from Bridgetown, Barbados on Tuesday, CXC said its office in Jamaica closed on July 2 at 12 pm EST.

This announcement came shortly after the CXC’s headquarters in Barbados reopened following a closure on July 1 in preparation for Hurricane Beryl.

The office closures are to protect the safety of the employees and stakeholders and will reopen with the guidance provided by the Government of Jamaica.

Hurricane Beryl is headed for Jamaica on July 3 as a category 4 hurricane after leaving a few Caribbean islands in ruin.

It has deeply affected Grenada and has claimed at least one life in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, according to their minister, Hon. Ralph D. Gonsalves.
