DDM: Thunderstorms near BVI may cause heavy showers, flooding
The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has issued an alert of thunderstorms immediately northwest of the British Virgin Islands.
Residents are being told to brace for what is being described as “heavy rainfall” on Thursday, November 8.
“Possible ponding of roads and flooding of areas with poor drainage,” the DDM said in a brief weather update Thursday morning.
The disaster management department did not give further details.
The territory has been affected by consistent rainy weather since the weekend.
