Digicel giving away $60K in cash and prizes this Christmas

Digicel is giving away $60,000 in cash and prizes up until December 31 as part of its annual Christmas campaign.

This was revealed during a media briefing at Digicel’s flagship store in Road Town on Thursday, November 21.

The telecommunications company’s Marketing Executive Timothy Barker said there are many initiatives that it will be undertaking this Christmas, including a competition entitled ‘Shake It’.

“Shake It is an app that is only available through the MyDigicel app. To be eligible to win, persons can either download the app or activate a data bundle plan and for postpaid customers. All they have to do is pay their bill in full and on time,” Barker explained.

He further said: “The ‘Shake It’ app will be available from tomorrow Friday, where you will be able to win each day and guaranteed wins on a Saturday. We’re going to be giving away cash, we’re going to be giving away prizes and we’re going up to $60,000 in cash and prizes.”

Prizes to be won

Head of Digicel’s Consumer Sales & Services Sylvia Louisy further explained some of the prizes which their customers can become eligible to win.

“This $60,000 incorporates seven-day data bundles and bonuses, credit, iPads, cell phones, a one-year package for a family of four and a $5000 final prize which will be held on December 21,” she stated.

“We have daily cash prizes of $50 where one customer will win $50 every day and we have a prize every Saturday of $250,” Louisy added.

She also revealed that Digicel will be giving away a further $50,000 cash in their regional competition of which BVI customers will be eligible to compete to have a chance of also claiming that prize.

Deal for all new customers

Louisy further said all new customers whether postpaid or prepaid can look forward to receiving deals. For prepaid customers, if they purchase a Samsung J2 smartphone for $69, it will include a 7 day ‘Big Data’ plan with six gigabytes of data free of cost.

New postpaid customers will also enjoy their first three months of service at half price, along with a free Samsung J2 smartphone, when they activate any ‘Unbeatable Plan’.

Secret Santa

Barker further said there will be a treasure hunt held every Saturday with Digicel’s very own ‘Secret Santa’, where customers will be guaranteed to win prizes.

“Our treasure hunt is very famous. We’re bringing it different this time with a ‘Secret Santa’. Look out for your clues on a Saturday morning via social media and then search for ‘Secret Santa’ so you can immediately win cash or a prize,” Barker said.
