Dirk Walters switches to At-Large
Political candidate for Progressives United, Dirk Walters, has ended his campaign at the district level and has stepped into the Territorial At-Large arena.
Walters, as recent as Saturday had planned on vying to become the next Fifth District representative.
He would have gone up against Elvis Harrigan of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Kye Rymer of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) and Wade Smith of the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM).
But checks on his Facebook page as well as his public announcement on JTV media on February 6 confirmed that he has in fact opted to go up against an even larger pool of candidates.
During the aforesaid public statement, Walters said a number of voters encouraged him to run At-Large so that his plans for the Fifth District could be extended to the wider territory.
He will now be going up against the likes of NDP Chairman Myron Walwyn, PVIM leader Ronnie Skelton, as well as Carvin Malone from the VIP, and several others.

If I could vote I would vote for you brother Dirky, no matter where you run. He is probably the most down to earth candidate of all the people in the race
Mitch! Switch! Do like Dirky. Come from with that party. You still have time. Come out. Run Independent.
