Document leak was not from Governor’s Office, Sir Gary finds
Investigations have revealed that there was no leak emanating from the Governor’s Office or the Commission of Inquiry (COI) team concerning the COI document recently leaked to an online news website.
The document was a statement from government ministers who the COI invited to submit their position on governance. It reportedly contained serious allegations that the former governor, Augustus Jaspert and the United Kingdom government have acted improperly, unconstitutionally, and illegally.
In a bid to discover who is responsible for the leak, COI Commissioner Sir Gary Hickinbottom had issued a directive that the Attorney General and the Governor’s Office provide a list of every person who has had access to the document.
Yesterday, Sir Gary said he was satisfied the Governor’s Office was not the source of the leak. He said overnight discussions with their team had demonstrated this fact.
“Both the Governor’s Office and the Attorney General have responded to that direction. As a result of the Governor’s office response — I have already met the Governor and the three-members of the Governor’s Office who had access to the position statement — and I have satisfied myself that the breach of confidence did not emanate from any of them,” Sir Gary said.
Sir Gary again repeated that the leak did not come from his five-member team in the BVI.
According to the Commissioner, the Attorney General (AG), Dawn Smith’s response to his directive was that disclosure within the BVI government and legal team was quite widespread. As a result, her enquiries are ongoing.
The AG told the COI she would write again once those enquiries are complete.

I believe the Governor’s office had no parts of leaking the information. The leak came from someone with ties to the bumble color website.
The leak did not came from the Governors office, I ALSO BELIEVE IT CAME FROM THE YELLOW AND BLACK WEBSITE AKA V**O.
Everyone knows where the leak originated. How about you drag the es****** from hiding behind media rights and make him spill the beans.
Let’s see now. It’s a government “ minister “ that hates the Uk , despises the COI and is reckless.
And it ends up in the yellow top.
Who could it possibly be?
How is it that a COI document deemed confidential was allowed to be widely disclosed within the BVI government and became widespread within legal team?
Who is responsible for this? How is that possible?
This is the kind of disclosure that is all too common in the BVI. Similar to going to the hospital or to the police station to make a report. One can show up and before they get home, someone outside those institutions would have already been informed of your business.
There is NO confidentiality in the BVI. None! In this case, this is more than a confidentiality issue. It is part of a sinister plot to undermine the work of the Commission of Inquiry.
Nevertheless, what was disclosed was already in the public domain. I think it’s fair to say we know how the government felt about the former governor already, so in my judgement, this was a waste of effort on the leakers part, and rather unacceptable and criminal behavior.
The original writer of the document could give copies to whoever he liked. Even his very favourite media outlet.

W——- was no less than an embarrassment to the BVI today. His behavior made him and the House he represents look like less than consumate professionals. I would like to know what the BVI PM saw in this pom—- man, that makes him eligible to serve as speaker of the House.
To those cheering on Mr. Willock, just remember children and the young men hanging on the street corner are watching and taking notes. You can’t expect to apply a different set of standards when they act up and get away with it. He comes across as someone who have unresolved issues with himself and have to prove to the world he’s smart. He really made himself and not the COI look bad. Even his attorney seemed not to want to be associated with him.
show me where willock acted up. All i saw was a man who see what that the commission of inquiry is a farce, and a form of modern they slavery and defending himself, the territory and its people against an inquiry from the UK.
This COI has an agenda and predetermined outcome, which is to elude that the BVI is lost and corrupted. Therefore the UK has to step in and take control to stabilize things tighten up things to there liking to get it back under control and stronger rule.
Of course we know the connection between the cl**n who gave evidence today Friday 18th and the yellow and black site. Mr Commissioner dont be distracted cpntinue to reveal what’s happening in our beloved country.
