Dominican Republic national charged with theft on VG
A woman from the Dominican Republic was recently charged with theft on Virgin Gorda after allegedly stealing a man’s gold chain, which is valued at over $2,500.
The relationship between the accuser and the woman is not fully known, but our sources say the two met briefly and decided to spend time at the man’s place of residence.
They were at the man’s house when the incident occurred. The accuser reportedly gave the woman access to his bedroom where he had placed his gold chain.
It’s alleged that the woman left the house the same day but her accuser was unable to find his expensive piece of jewellery shortly after.
The police were contacted shortly and after initial investigations, they reportedly went to the woman’s house to conduct a search.
It’s understood that the gold chain was found in the woman’s house and she was arrested and charged for theft. BVI News was not able to ascertain whether she was jailed or released on bail, or whether the matter was dropped when the stolen item was discovered.
