Don’t change the formula, Premier Wheatley urges

Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley

As he addressed residents in the Fifth District during a candidate launch over the weekend, Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley implored residents not to change the successful formula his Virgin Islands Party (VIP) government embodied when they (the public) cast their votes next month at the next general elections.

Dr Wheatley argued that Fifth District Representative, Kye Rymer, has helped move the entire territory forward and has assisted residents of his districts throughout his term in office and should be allowed to continue his work alongside the rest of the VIP team.

“While you might hope that if he is there with others you will get that assistance, why chance it?” Premier Wheatley asked. “If a formula is working for you District 5, why should you go and change that formula? I’m saying let’s stick with what works.”

Premier Wheatley described Rymer as a man of loyalty. He said this loyalty has been given both to him as Premier and to Rymer’s Fifth District constituency and argued that Rymer’s support had been unwavering as Deputy Premier.

Rymer argued that there has been much work done in the district to help people and said the last four years had been no easy journey for the community. “We’ve accomplished a lot in the last four years and must continue to build on the foundation we’ve laid. There is so much more to be done and I am confident in our ability to continue the transformative work that we have started,” Rymer said.

In the meantime, Dr Wheatley noted, that with all the difficulties faced over the last four years, the country is only now getting on its feet. He also expressed that his government is now better poised to serve the territory and make even greater progress.

According to the Premier, his party has had four years of figuring out the problems of the territory and arriving at solutions for what work and what partnerships are needed to get things done in the territory.

The Premier added that there was no need for an experiment at this time and dismissed talks of having what some have described as a ‘patchwork’ government being elected into office.

PWD has no captain steering that ship and the crew doing what the want with impunity! Look at sidewalk to nowhere by QE park – when will that be completed? Roads are in a deplorable condition and the country is overgrown! What has he truly accomplished as Minister? Maybe a select few have personally benefited in the district from his dismissal performance.

Please. We have to move on from these people. Those who benefit will want to stay on the gravy Train. A.F Took 43 mil under his ministry name gave it out without his involvement and he sits like a lamb, not a word. How weak can one get, what more proof of failure we need. This Guy can’t get the COI recommendations accomplish because he is just talk no one takes him seriously. Every department doing what they want, no standard, no discipline, no fairness, no accountability

  18. Lb says:

The formula brought us the COI and nearly lost us our country! The formula still can’t fix water woes and still has sewerage running in the streets! The formula still has Prospect Reef abandoned! Our roads are worse than ever! The formula still has derelict boats partially submerged in our waters 6 years later! The formula saw the worst murder spree in our history with one of VIP candidates having murders plotted from right in his house! Check the court documents! The formula nearly killed our tourism and saw the USVI and other countries take our tourism markets! The formula was irresponsible and corrupt with 100s of millions of dollars given out to their friends while the rest of us starved! Victimization was at an all time high under this formula!

We do not want or need this formula ever again in the BVII!

This man want me to believe he did not know about the Senegal man, the sinaloa cartel (who turned out to be the feds thank the good creator), the distributions to buy votes in district one, the schemes to make the bvi the drug money laundering haven of the world? He was AF right hand man. And by the looks of it, AF was a talker. A spill the beaner. A ‘humpy dumpy’. Sl** really want to insult the intelligence of the people of the virgin islands like that? Someone who watches money being given away to somebody who not producing any work while the people in his district are starving and the only pot they could afford is the pothole in the road is NOT A MAN OF INTEGRITY, NOT A LEADER, NOT GENUINE, NOT VERY CEREBRAL…and the list goes on. He needs to realise that he was chosen to serve as deputy because he was seen to be the sl**est, the least int***igent, the least in***ral, the least et***al of the four that were tried out to become the deputy. And he is pledging allegiance to someone who does not think very highly of him. How sl** does someone have to be. Please just make him go away.
