East End fire claims one life
The police have confirmed that a body was pulled from under several layers of debris inside the home gutted by fire on June 11 in the Red Bay area of East End.
The identity of the body has not been determined but reports are that the deceased was a senior citizen. It’s not clear whether he was a member of the house that was gutted.
Reports reaching our news centre are that an occupant of the house called the police when the fire was identified. When the cops arrived on the scene, firemen were already working to put out the blaze.
It’s understood that the fire did not spread beyond the affected house but caused minor damage to the neighbouring property.
Investigations are ongoing but the authorities have not released the cause of the fire.

Penn said nobody was hurt. Well sah!
At the time of the release no one was aware that a body was burnt in the house. So whoever you are stop being mischievous and slanderous.
Stop using a disaster to funnel your twisted venom on Hon Penn. . When the news broke no one was aware not even the firemen . Ayo too nasty and evil in this place
My question is, didnt anyone in the area know that someone lived there?
