Education Minister praises DYAS business expo

Education Minister Sharie de Castro has praised the work of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS) following its successful hosting of a recent business expo.

More than 40 youth businesses were showcased when the DYAS held its Youth Business Expo at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex last week.

“I want to really appreciate the work that the ministry is doing to really open up the curriculum offerings to lend more life and purpose to areas like entrepreneurial skills development so that our young people can have the ability, the skills in the learning environment to be able to take theory into practice and actually create businesses that will benefit the territory,” the Minister said.

de Castro said she felt that young people could look at problems in the territory and come up with a solution to their businesses to be able to meet the demands of the public and private sectors.

“We are adamant about ensuring that all areas of my portfolio interlock and allow our young people to grow up feeling like they don’t just have to be employees, which is fine,” she added. “I mean, some will be employees, but some understand that they can be employers and actually employ other individuals.”

The Education Minister stressed that the economy needs the vision of persons of all ages and said whatever the government — in collaboration with its various departments — can offer to support continued business development will be done.

“I know the Deputy Premier is very passionate about that, and so we are all going to work together cohesively as a government to ensure that we continue to create business opportunities,” de Castro stated.

Lets not forget that she ‘stole’ from the people.

It is obvious, that this gold-plated politician and her fellow elected officials are beginning to flake and show their true selves. Selves that have no idea how to run this country.

It would be interesting to know how persons really feel about the leadership and representation they have been receiving from their vote after campaigning hard for these people.

Is this what you all voted for???
