Employee’s death shocked Tourist Board

PRESS RELEASE: The BVI Tourist Board and the BVI community were saddened by the news early on Tuesday morning (November 21) of the passing of the BVI Tourist Board’s Product Manager, Ms Victorene Creque.

Ms Creque who resided in Virgin Gorda passed away at her home after succumbing to a brief illness.

Ms Creque was a 26-year veteran of the BVI Tourist Board, having joined the organization in1991 after graduating from Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee.

During her tenure at the Board, Ms Creque worked as an Accounts Officer, Sales Representative and in various areas of Marketing and Product Development.

As Product Manager, Ms Creque was responsible for facilitating and managing product enhancement initiatives to ensure high standards for the BVI’s Tourism Product.

This entailed fostering strong partnerships with Government Agencies and the private sector to achieve those objectives.

Among other things, Vicky was instrumental in spearheading the One BVI/Keep it CleanCommunity Cleanup Campaigns, the installation of signage, the delivery of training, including taxi and the BVI Guest Experience Training done in collaboration with the Disney Institute; and she was the BVITB’s Disaster Management Coordinator.

“The Tourist Board is very saddened and indeed shocked by the loss of Ms Creque whose experience and industry connections have proved invaluable to the Board. She proudly represented her country at home and abroad in various capacities and always expressed a willingness to take on new challenges. We extend our condolences to her family and close friends, including her family here at the BVI Tourist Board who will miss her immensely,” said Director of Tourism Mrs Sharon Flax-Brutus.
