Extradition hearing ends

The extradition hearing against Earl ‘Bob’ Hodge and former Customs Officer Roberto ‘Tico’ Harrigan has ended.
The men are wanted by the United States (US) on allegations of drug running.
Magistrate Shawn Innocent, who usually practice overseas, is expected to announce his decision on July 25.
If Magistrate Innocent rules in favour of the United States, Hodge and Harrigan will have two weeks to apply to the High Court to challenge the ruling.
The case, which was closed to the public, saw evidence being given by at least one high-ranking official – Governor John Duncan.
Members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force arrested Hodge and Harrigan in February this year while acting in relation to the extradition request of the United States Justice Department.
This is at least the third attempt by US law enforcement to extradite the two men from the British Virgin Islands.
Hodge and Harrigan are jointly being represented by attorneys Patrick Thompson and Stephen Daniels.
