Father of dead infant released from custody
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is reporting that the father of the recently deceased 11-month-old girl has been released from custody.
He was released last week pending further investigations, law enforcers said on Monday, May 14.
“No charges were laid against him,” the RVIPF said.
The father, Michael Fearon, was taken into custody in connection with the infant’s death last month.
The infant was found unresponsive in the father’s vehicle on Monday, April 30.
It is said the baby was unwittingly left in the vehicle all day.
She was pronounced dead around 5:30pm on the day in question.

Glad he was not charged. He suffered enough……When the baby birthday comes around he will suffer every time, when ever he sees a baby he will get emotional and break down……what else does he need…..accidents do happen

YESSS it was an accident. We are all human prone to mistakes that only happen to others, UNTIL it happens to us or to someone in our community. In no way are we saying her life wasn’t precious. No r do we expect her family to come to grips with what took place. But at the end of the day it was an accident.

I totally agree. It is however really hard to deal with this lost. My thing is there is nothing anyone can say or do to him that will make him feel worst. In my heart he did no purposely leave that gem of a baby in the car. Sadly it happened. let us remember though that he has lost her too. We all did. We might not be able to heal but surly we, they, especially with time and support (positive support) be able to handle the pain a little better. My deepest heartfelt condolences to the family and the bvi community at large.
Something is wrong with the soul and conscience of my country. Many of our people are in the wilderness where they are blind and can’t see right from wrong. If one us got in a fender bender with another car owner we would perhaps end up in court even though it was an accident. How can anyone of us be soo lost to conclude that the loss of a child’s life due to the negligence of a parent is an accident and the parent should simply walk free! What is wrong with you people? Is it ok then to just forget your child in a car?

Moreso the clannish jamaican association obviously raised by wolves and hyenas. They include the lawyers and professionals more than the labourers mind you
If you have never forgotten to do something ever in your whole existence I will applaud you as the greatest human being ever. One will never understand a person’s situation if they are not in their shoes. The lost of this child is tragic, but at the end of the day God knows and see’s all things. This is not your place to give such judgement.
All is not lost. He has 3 handsome sons by his former wife.

Can we please move on from this unfortunate incident and let the family heal. I would welcome fewer articles about this matter…for the sake of the family. No one needs to be reminded of this tragedy…it hit home for the majority of us in the BVI…can we please try to make something positive out of it…like somebody developing a warning / alert for vehicles….maybe the the security alarm going off when a human presence is detected in a vehicle…
