The following is a media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

After 11 pm on May 30, during a joint operation involving officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Marine Unit and US Customs and Border Patrol a suspicious vessel was intercepted.

A search of the vessel revealed multiple packages believed to contain cocaine, with an estimated value exceeding $34 million.

The three men on board, identified as Julio Cabrera Martinez, 40, Tomas Balbuena Acosta, 55, and Remigio De Los Santos, 62, have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug and Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply.

Commissioner Collins stated, “This significant bust underscores the RVIPF’s ongoing commitment to disrupting drug trafficking operations in the Virgin Islands.”

The suspects are currently in custody pending their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court.

  4. Photo says:

of the actual vessel that the cocaine was aboard would be accurate reporting. The photo of an Asian fishing vessel is not helpful.

  5. BVI customs says:

US customs out seizing drugs all kinda hour and our BVI customs can’t get a decent drug seizure up to this day… Weird.

Why US customs cant collaborate with our customs when they looking to do a drugs bust? They always collaborate with our police force

Them don’t trust our customs department??

    • COI says:

The COI seems to have tarnish BVI Customs name after saying they are corrupt. and launching an investigation on them. So now base on news, Police seems to have gain the collaboration with US Customs.
Well played Chess move by the UK/Police.
