Five charges – Skelton allegedly runs red light
A resident of Fish Bay on Tortola, Mario Skelton Jr, has been slapped with a number of charges for mainly violations after he allegedly led police on a chase through sections of the island.
He was arrested recently and charged with reckless driving, refusing to give blood sample, running a red light, exceeding speed limit, and failing to stop at the sound of a siren.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, which revealed the charges, did not give details of the arrest.
It is alleged that law enforcers were on duty in Pasea when they saw a speeding vehicle run the red light.
The police, with siren on, pursued the vehicle for some time.
Further allegations are that the civilian’s vehicle crashed and Skelton eventually was nabbed.
