In one of the signature events slated to mark its year-round 50th anniversary celebration, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) will host a Regional Police Pageant on Saturday, April 1st.

The RVIPF’s own Constable Joevern Webb will join four other young female officers from constabularies around the Caribbean to compete in foot drills, intellect, talent and poise for the honored title.

The other contestants are from St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Antigua and Barbuda.

Constable Zamera Dean Frederick will represent the Royal St. Lucia Police Force; Constable Kemelia Boyd will represent the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force; Constable Renika Isaac will represent the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda; and Constable Sascha Goodard will represent the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Event coordinator, Sergeant Jacqueline Tom-Christopher, says despite the distressing events of the last few weeks, the RVIPF felt it was important to keep its commitment to the overseas contestants and chaperones who, from late last year, dedicated money and time to prepare for the pageant.

“The contestants and their chaperones are all excited about the opportunity to come to the territory, meet our officers and compete for the pageant title in the Virgin Islands. In advance they purchased their own tickets and costly outfits to participate in this event. Our local businesses and corporate sponsors were very supportive in providing the prizes and covering most of the financial obligations for the show. In fact, no public funds are being used. With a very small organizing committee, I was fortunate to be able to still put together such an elaborate event,” she said.

Contestants will be judged in several different categories including best drill, talent, evening wear and intellect.

The event will be held at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall at 7:30pm.
