Flax-Brutus lands major post at Leverick Bay Resort
The BVI’s former Director of Tourism Sharon Flax-Brutus has landed a major post as the Director of Operations at the Virgin Gorda Villa Rentals and Leverick Bay Resort & Marina.
The announcement was made in a social media post from the company on Monday, July 20.
The post said Flax-Brutus will be responsible to “work to enhance the operations of the properties that make up Virgin Gorda Villa Rentals and Leverick Bay Resort & Marina to take them to the next level by providing a more luxury guest experience, paying very close attention to detail and offering a more personalized guest experience from reservation to rebooking.”
Happy she joined
In the meantime, property owner, Christina Yates said she is elated that Flax-Brutus joined the company.
“We feel so honoured that Sharon has agreed to be a part of our team. Her experience, industry and product knowledge, respect of her peers and passion for the BVI is a huge asset to us, and as we launch plans to expand our properties, she is the best person to take our companies to the next level,” she said.
Flax-Brutus served in the capacity as Tourism Director of the BVI Tourist Board for more than eight years.
Her last day on that job was on May 20 after she tendered her resignation six months in advance. However, the Tourist Board decided that Flax-Brutus’ resignation must take immediate effect.

Congrats, Sharon!
Congrats Ms. Sharon, I admire this lady. Very smart and classy woman.
Maybe she will be on the forefront of getting the island open safely before there is no more leverick bay resort
@2cents, no one cares or want to hear your negativity today. Did you not get the memorandum saying if you can’t say good it’s always best to bite your ?and keep your ?shut?
How about repairing all the Irma damaged villas in Leverick Bay for a start. Most villa renters do not want a view from their Leverick Bay villa that includes roofless buildings, broken walls, exposed rooms/pipes/wires, piles of concrete rubble and dark green slimy swimming pools.
Doesn’t Chris yates owns most of the unrepaired villas? …
Proof that when one door closes, another opens. Congratulations to you!!
