Flow highlights enhanced performance of its network following rebuild

PRESS RELEASE: Residents of the Territory are being assured that faster and consistently reliable internet is available in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

Flow has completed its network rebuild in various communities throughout the BVI, and is the first telecommunications company to have introduced ‘Fiber To The Home’ delivering world-class speeds up to 300 Megabits per second.

The provider also rolled out LTE Advanced on its mobile network offering the latest and best technology available today. Flow Country Manager Colin MacDonald stated the minimal broadband speed for consumers is now 25 megabits per second, which places BVI in the top group of Internet served countries in the world.

“Not only can customers enjoy faster internet speeds to meet the now higher bandwidth demands of consumers in the BVI, but business customers can also promote greater innovation within their organization through our Cloud solutions which offer managed administration of operating systems, backups, hardware, and software,” explained MacDonald.

Secure and modern telecommunication systems are essential to achieving strategic innovations like product diversification, discovering new distribution channels, formulating new marketing campaigns or enhancing financial reporting. In addition, with managed IT and Cloud Solutions, business customers can also benefit from lower operating costs, and increased efficiency since they can refocus on the specific activities that are core to the business’ continued success.

A number of Flow customers have already noticed a marked difference in the quality of the broadband internet service provided. Residential Customer Mr Tyson said: “Flow internet works well for me. There is no buffering like some of the other providers. I can use it all over my house in any weather, connect with my laptop or phone and I’m good. With Flow, I can relax anywhere in my home and scroll, text, load, you name it!”

Flow — the only full-service telecommunications provider in the BVI — remains focused on providing reliable internet services and is reminding the community that Cable & Wireless owns and operates the region’s most advanced network.
