Flow introduces faster internet speeds

Telecommunications giant, Flow is now introducing faster internet speeds as well as family-type plans to local consumers.

Flow announced the roll-out of these initiatives at a press conference last Thursday.

Country Manager for Flow, Ravindra Maywahlall said internet consumers can now get gigabit-speed internet in the BVI.

Gigabit-speed internet delivers download speeds of up to one-gigabyte-per-second or the equivalent — 1,000 megabits per second. These kinds of speeds are typically only available in locations with fibre-to-the-premises. This is when the connection is transmitted entirely using fibre-optic cables rather than the traditional copper phone lines.

“As we’ve all seen with the impact of COVID, internet connectivity and bandwidth is key — not just bandwidth but reliable connectivity. And it doesn’t get more reliable than fibre straight into your home,” Maywahlall said on Thursday.

“We’re launching that product today. Entry-level broadband speeds are now going to a hundred megs and it’s exciting times,” he added.

As for the family mobile plan, Flow is offering to give members within a family shared data and voice minutes for a mixed rate.

Flow is offering 120 gigabits of data for $70 per person. This offer covers up to four persons. Families can also bundle this plan with their home internet plan for more value.

“It’s the best value anywhere in the Caribbean at this moment and these offers are tied to some amazing handset deals as well. For instance, you can get up to two iPhone 12 for $399 each and two free Samsung devices. You can get two S21 Samsung devices at the same price point as well,” Maywahlall stated.
