Flow: Access to telephone services available in parts of the BVI
Nedburn Thaffe – Telecommunications provider, Flow BVI, has announced that while a number of its cell towers were damaged during the passage of Hurricane Irma, some are still functional, allowing customers to access telephone services.
Cell sites in the Road Town, Belle Vue, Kingston, and Carrot Bay area are still functional, Flow Country Manager, Colin Macdonald said in a statement.
“Customers in these areas should be able to connect to our mobile network to make and receive calls,’ Macdonald said.
He noted that Flow has opened its Flemming Street Store in Road Town to serve as the base of operations and has been providing wifi access and top-up services on a limited basis to customers.
“However as much of the store’s infrastructure has been damaged, please note that we have a very limited capacity at this time,” the Country Manager said.
Macdonald added that Flow technicians are working hard to service and maintain the sites that are currently operational and repair those that they are able to be repaired.
“We will continue to update you on our progress. Thank you for your continued support and together we will work very hard to rebuild these Virgin Islands. Please continue to secure your families as best as possible during this challenging period,” he said.
