My deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and the entire community on the passing of the Honorable Eileene Parsons, affectionately known as Miss P. Her remarkable contributions to the Virgin Islands, especially in education and public service, have left an indelible mark. May her legacy continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Miss P.
Well unfortunately there’s no who’s a bvilander and who’s not in the dirt..
May her social and political views rest in peace.
Now Natalio going have his way even more with the festival attire …
To skin out , shockout and wild out.
From my recollection of a passionate speech Eileene made at the opening the Emancipation Festival in the 1970’s, her concern was not about the lewdness of dress, but about how Virgin Islanders had lost sight of the true purpose of festival. That being: commemorating the Emancipation Act of August 1, 1834, which freed over 5,000 slaves in the territory.
I hope we give this “Stateswoman” and “Icon” of the British Virgin Islands a good send off. Mrs. Eileen Parson deserves a State Funeral and I hope that is what we are going to do as a Territory. We are Looking forward for a State Funeral
I will miss her lovely smile, her jokes and those old time saying and proverbs. She was not afraid to say what need or had to say and I loved her for that. I will Miss her Very Much – May her soul rest in eternal peace.
