Fraser and Willock reunite in back-to-school giveaway

Third District Representative Julian Fraser and former House Speaker Julian Willock appeared together in the Third District this week, setting aside past tensions to host a back-to-school giveaway for children in the community.

The event, organised by Willock, featured school supplies, gifts, and interactive quizzes for students preparing to return to classrooms.

Fraser, who has represented the district since 1999, praised the initiative and highlighted its importance for young people.

“This is Mr Willock’s function, his idea. It’s a novel idea. I thought that he came here for back-to-school purposes, but then I see him giving out little trinkets for answering questions,” Fraser said.

The long-serving legislator also pointed out how the activity encouraged awareness of the community.

“If you can’t answer those questions, you’re not going to get any gifts from him, anything to carry back to school, because if you don’t know three facilities in the Third District that has a name of [someone in the district], it means that you’re not following what’s going on in the district,” Fraser explained.

He urged residents to think about recognising more community members when naming public facilities.

“I’m sure there are people who are deserving of having facilities named after them. Probably we’re running out of things to name. We have some streets that have to be named as well, so if you all could come up with some names for some streets, we’ll get them named after some people in the district,” Fraser added.

Willock, who once served as Fraser’s political protégé, expressed gratitude for Fraser’s presence.

“Thank you, Honourable Fraser, Minister Fraser. And your presence here today means a lot to myself, and also the residents, and of course our committee,” he said.

The public appearance follows months of speculation about a rift between the two men. Last year, Fraser suggested that an unnamed figure was acting like a district representative in his constituency, widely seen as a reference to Willock.

In response, Willock denied campaigning and insisted he remained loyal to Fraser.

“There is no fight between Fraser and I,” he said while pledging respect to his longtime mentor. At the giveaway, however, both men emphasised unity.

Fraser congratulated Willock for supporting parents and children, saying, “It speaks volumes to how observant Mr Willock is and what he thinks he could do to help parents in the district. There’s a future for all of you little, young children. And the efforts that are being put out here by Mr Willock is ensuring that future for you”.

The back-to-school drive marks the latest in a series of community-focused initiatives in the district as students begin the new academic year.

I agree. Running our Territory’s Government has become a race to the bottom of trickery and opportunist , smooth talking con-artistry.

Set of manipulative, incompetent, confusion makers.

If you are going to put those three all in the same picture please provide a Trigger Warning. I actually threw up in my mouth a little bit.

If you are going to name a street after Fraser make sure it’s a long winding dead-end road.

  10. What a thing says:

This event felt so wrong to be at. The only thing that made me smile was the trivia part when the question was asked “who is the district representative for 3rd, and the child said Hon. Aaron Parillon.” That alone shows the body of work this young man has put into the district. Julian Willock is no good for politics in this country. He has been fired from every government post. Can’t be trusted. Made a mockery of our house of assembly.

Fraser should be ashamed of himself standing next to someone like this but they all alike.

Aaron for the landslide win 2027

Fraser himself knows that one should not be in our house of assembly but I suppose it’s a party thing. The voters will decided.
