Fraser has been my main advisor – Premier
Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley has singled out Deputy Premier Julian Fraser as his chief advisor, pointing to Fraser’s experience and guidance as being instrumental in his administration.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Dr Wheatley underscored Fraser’s role in shaping government policy and decision-making.
“The Deputy Premier has been my main advisor, and I would say that this government and the people of the Virgin Islands are the main beneficiaries of him being a part of the government,” Premier Wheatley stated.
Fraser, the Minister for Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change, joined the Virgin Islands Party (VIP)-led government under controversial circumstances in October 2024 after former Deputy Premier Lorna Smith was unceremoniously ousted. Smith reportedly learned about her removal from office after she received a letter from a courier while sitting at work.
Fraser previously served in multiple ministerial capacities and is currently the longest-serving member of the House of Assembly. Dr Wheatley praised his extensive political experience, saying, “Quite literally, he’s been mentoring me and guiding me, which I’m hugely grateful for.”
Fraser promised multiple no-confidence motions against the Wheatley-led VIP government immediately after the previous general elections. During the press conference, Fraser was pressed about his promise and his controversial shift from the opposition benches to the government.
“The government needed help. Now I’m with them,” he responded abruptly.
Dr Wheatley defended his decision to remove Lorna Smith as Deputy Premier, citing uncertainty about her long-term commitment to his administration. He acknowledged her expertise in financial services and stated, “If there’s any way for her to play more of a role in financial services, I’m certainly open to that.”
Fraser’s role in the government is expected to be pivotal in upcoming constitutional negotiations with the United Kingdom. Dr Wheatley expressed confidence in Fraser’s contributions, particularly in governance matters. “We will be more successful as a government because he is with the government, and the Virgin Islands will be more successful because of his role in this government.”
Fraser’s return to a senior government position follows decades of involvement in BVI politics, dating back to his election in 1999. After losing the leadership post to convicted former Premier Andrew Fahie, he left the VIP to form the Progressives United (PU).

that isn’t something any sane person would want to admit, dude has terrible judgement, did we all forget the traffic lights at the roundabout
Who is this man trying to f**l. His brother is who he listens to. Fraser just joined VIP 2 months ago. He has been Premier for 4 years now.
The brother is well qualified and balanced so i hope that he continues to seek his guidance. And he isnt looking for the spotlight just goes about doing the serious business of governing.
Fraser is a VIP at heart. He had an issue with Andrew Fahie and he left the party then.
If he was your advisor or has been your advisor, he should have advised you that it was a bad idea to use the taxpayers money to sponsor a criminal concert.
Thank you for your comment. Why is he taking advice from someone whose District is in such a deplorable condition. Hardly any proper running water to take a proper bath and properly wash your dishes. Mr. Magoo and Shrek, that is what you two are. Sponge Bob square pants is a sponge and he have waaaaaay more sense than the both of you put together.
Tell it like it is. Lol, wonder if Fraser is going to be at the gangster concert. If he was your advisor in my book Fraser encourage the Premier to give the taxpayers money to help sponsor the gangster concert. Everyone that is involved in this nonsense is going to line their greedy pockets.
Don’t care, don’t give a rats dirty behind. Don’t want to hear anything about you and Fraser.
Don’t want see or hear anything from any of those people or what they have to say. I’m sick and over all of them. The only thing I am focus on is working my 9-5, taking care of myself, paying $1,300 rent as a single female in a nice part of the Island and minding my business.
We really are in good hands then!
We just need Trump t0 pardon Fahie and then we get the band back together. Bright, sunny uplands for BVI!
Stop with the foolishness about Trump pardoning Fahie. Trump could care less about Tortola much less Fahie. Dose Trump even knows that the BVI exists?
I think they are just being sarcastic.
Well that explains it!!
It sure as hell explains it all. I’m good, peace out!!!!
A man of wisdom and a vast majority of experience and knowledge
LORD WE NEED YOU TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS.
The blind leading the blind.
You don’t get sarcasm, do you?!
We all know the Premier’s brother is running the Territory. Since Fraser is your advisor, he should advise you to stop spending unnecessary money on first class travels and accommodations and stop using the taxpayers money to sponsor every ghetto pan drop. He also need to advise you to be honest with the people about how much was spent and how much profit was made off the free ghetto disaster I stand to be corrected 3 day ghetto music fest. All I know, as a tax payer, when it is time for me to get my pension, my S better be in order. I want every red cent back that I am entitled to .
That explains Fraser’s hair do.
DO NOW YOU CONFESSING ,
Your advisor? Sounds more to me like he is your DRY SNITCHER.
